Diversity and inclusion

An absolute commitment to Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) is at the heart of our strategy as a firm and resonates strongly with me on a personal level. 'TogetherHDY' is the umbrella brand for all D& I initiatives at our firm. TogetherHDY goes to the heart of what diversity and inclusion means: regardless of individual differences, we come together and support each other as one team, one firm. In May 2016 we ran a week of focussed D&I events entitled 'TogetherHDY Week', during which we launched our LGBTIQ Network (HDYPride) and announced some significant policy enhancements, particularly to our paid parental leave provisions. Our commitment to gender equality remains an extremely important component of HDY's diversity strategy. Supporting women to succeed will continue to be a priority and area of focus for this firm. This commitment has been clearly recognised through our achievement of the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) 'Employer of Choice for Gender Equality' citation, an accolade we have proudly held for the last 6 years. I am personally involved as a Pay Equity Ambassador for WGEA's pay equity awareness campaign and am committed to addressing any pay gap at the firm. We offer a range of policies, programs and initiatives to underpin our commitment to progressing women in HDY but just as importantly we work hard to ensure that the culture of the organisation is supportive and equitable. Workplace flexibility is key to this and I am proud that genuine flexibility is an integral part of how we do things at HDY; an environment built on mutual trust and respect.

Michael Greene, Managing Partner

HDY is committed to providing a diverse and inclusive workplace culture where all our people feel valued for their contribution. Ensuring our workplace is an environment where people feel able to be themselves and offer their views and experiences is not only the right thing to do – it also enriches our firm culture, the experience for all our people and the experience our clients have in working with us. We believe we all benefit from working with a diverse group of people.
