HDY strengthens corporate practice with new partner appointment

Henry Davis York is expanding and strengthening its Corporate / M&A practice with the appointment of Edward (Ted) Nixey as partner.

Ted brings a unique combination of in-house legal and large law firm experience which will enhance HDY's Corporate / M&A offering and deepen client understanding and insight.

Most recently Ted acted as in-house counsel and consultant for dual listed technology company Simavita Ltd and ATEC Rail Group respectively. Prior to this Ted was a partner in the Corporate and Commercial practice at K&L Gates in Sydney.

Ted also has rich international and cross-border corporate experience having worked in the UK for more than five years.

Commenting on Ted's appointment, HDY Managing Partner Michael Greene said:  "We are excited to have someone with Ted's expertise and experience join our firm."

"His appointment to our Corporate / M&A Practice reflects our dedication and efforts to supplement the great pool of talent we already have in the team. It will help ensure our clients continue to receive the highest level of service possible as we develop and grow our already strong relationships in this area."

Ted believes that as a leading Australian law firm with a strong presence and brand in a number of key sectors, in particular financial services, government and infrastructure, HDY is ideally placed to provide the service and expertise his clients expect.

"I am excited to join Henry Davis York, a firm that has a very strong foundation of high level legal expertise, recognised excellence in client service and an adherence to placing the needs of its clients at the forefront of everything it does," he said.

"The strong market reputation and standing of HDY, along with its agility and responsiveness was enormously attractive, to me and my clients. The firm has a clear market strategy and focus, with a brand that resonates with clients."

Ted is the latest partner to join the firm in recent months, following the addition of government, IT and procurement specialist Debra Tippett, who heads up HDY's recently opened Canberra office, and three internally promoted partners - Hamish Dixon and Laura Johns in the Banking, Turnaround and Insolvency Practice and Alex Whiteside in Projects, Construction and Procurement.
