Australian contracts expert joins HDY
3 December 2014
Australian law firm Henry Davis York (HDY) has engaged a leading contract law expert Jeffrey Goldberger as Special Counsel
Jeffrey joins HDY from Ashurst and has over 25 years’ experience in the Australian legal sector, having formerly lectured in contract law and private international law at the University of Sydney Law School. He is a recognised authority on Australian contract law, having for example served in 2012 on the then Federal Attorney General's expert panel on the reform of Australian contract law.
Jeffrey has worked with clients across many industry sectors. He is well known to, and highly regarded by, major government, finance, resources and corporate clients and is a highly valued addition to the HDY offering. Jeffrey's ability to articulate the application of contract law in a practical and commercial way is widely known and highly regarded nationally. Jeffrey's regular presentations on advanced contract law at Ashurst to lawyers and clients became an institution at that firm.
Jeffrey has extensive experience and expertise in the negotiation and resolution of complex contractual issues.
His appointment follows those of former Ashurst partners Kevin Arkwright and Graham Read earlier this year, emphasising the firm’s commitment to expertise and quality.
Commenting on Jeffrey’s appointment, HDY Managing Partner Michael Greene, said: "We’re very happy Jeffrey is joining our firm. He offers a unique combination of market-leading expertise in contract law, along with an ability to apply that expertise in a commercial and client-focused way. I am confident that his appointment will be welcomed by the firm's clients.”
Commenting on his appointment, Jeffrey said “I am delighted to have joined HDY. The firm has an outstanding reputation and I’m looking forward to making an immediate contribution to the expertise offering to the firm and its clients.”
