Our tax team are trusted advisers to public and private companies, foreign corporations and banks on the tax implications of mergers and acquisitions, disposals, corporate insolvencies and restructures, property and infrastructure projects, financing and leasing arrangements, tax consolidation and the establishment of new businesses.
We work closely with our funds experts in relation to international fund tax issues and are actively involved in the legislative design process, including discussions with Treasury on key reforms in the tax industry, particularly around the treatment of managed funds.
We also provide practical tax advice to property developers on income tax, GST and stamp duty and on the taxation aspects of project finance opportunities in the government sector.
Our clients tell us that they appreciate our depth of knowledge of the technical issues which we deliver as practical advice on how taxation and finance options work, how they interact with other areas of the law and how new legislation and compliance requirements will impact specific areas of a business.
