Simon McSweeney, a senior partner at leading Australian law firm Henry Davis York, has been elected by the partnership as its Chairman of Partners.
Simon replaces Philip Crawford who stood down after five years in the role.
The Chairman of Partners is an important position at HDY as it oversees the governance of the partnership and chairs formal partner meetings. The Chairman of Partners also acts as an important counsellor, guide and mentor for younger partners.
Managing Partner of HDY Michael Greene said: "Simon has been a partner at the firm for more than 20 years, he is a recognised leader in his area of law, has successfully led many key client relationships and served on the firm's Board. He is also a person known for supporting, advising and guiding his colleagues to the best of his ability.
"His election is clear evidence that our partners strongly believe he will continue the great work that Philip had undertaken with such focus and commitment."
