James specialises in commercial, procurement and construction projects with a focus on front end transactions.

James has experience reviewing, documenting and negotiating a wide range of standard form and bespoke contracts including complex supply agreements, outsourcing agreements, construction contracts, consultancy agreements and various forms of services contracts.

James also advises on a range of ancillary project documents including tender documentation, bid agreements, joint venture agreements, licensing agreements, guarantees and deeds of novation as well as having a specialist understanding of project-related insurance and risk issues.

James has also undertaken secondments at a large financial institution and a major infrastructure supplier during which time he has gained an understanding of the commercial and technical issues that drive an organisation.

Advised an Australian multi-campus university on the renegotiation of its student management software licensing agreement as part of the licensor's acquisition by an overseas company.

International Pharmaceutical Company

Acting for an international pharmaceutical company in relation to the construction of a multimillion dollar pharmaceutical facility. This included preparing all tendering and contract documentation, drafting early works documentation and negotiating and finalising contract terms with the successful tenderer.
