Jason Munstermann

Jason fixes things. Big and small. Of any kind.

Jason Munstermann Partner

Jason is the Group Leader of Henry Davis York's Disputes Group, which includes the legal teams for: Litigation & Dispute Resolution; Employment & Safety; Insurance; and Government Inquiries, Commissions & Inquests.

Jason is a litigation and disputes expert. For over 20 years he has worked as a specialist commercial litigator. He has accumulated a broad range of experience. Jason has acted for a large variety of clients in many sectors, principally in the Corporate, Financial Services, Government, Health and Mining sectors. Jason's current clients include Commonwealth and NSW Government departments and agencies, Macquarie Bank, Westpac, Iris Capital, Dell, Goodman Group and Sonic Healthcare.

Jason's approach to a dispute reflects that risk is inherent in all disputes and that it cannot be eliminated. He works hard on reducing exposure to those risks as much as possible, while also identifying and deploying broader strategies as part of his commitment to resolve any dispute on fair and reasonable terms.

Jason is a strong advocate for pursuing alternative forms of dispute resolution. In consultation with an esteemed former Judge, Jason has developed a highly flexible model for the resolution of disputes through the appointment of an independent legal expert. This model can be used in a wider variety of disputes and has worked particularly well in resolving contract disputes. The model can be a powerful tool in settlement discussions and lends itself to being a very quick, cost effective and principled way of resolving a wide variety of disputes.
