Seema specialises in taxation law and has more than 10 years experience providing taxation advice to the financial services industry, including funds management and banking clients, along with large domestic and multi-national corporations.
Seema advises on the tax implications of mergers and acquisitions, disposals, restructures, international taxation, as well as banking, restructuring and insolvency matters and the establishment of new businesses in Australia. She also regularly advises clients in the not-for-profit sector.
Seema's experiences have included both domestic and international secondments. She has authored a number of articles and publications, including various chapters of the Australian Tax Handbook (published by Thomson Reuters).
Seema has recently advised:
- New York-based hedge fund, Orange Capital in its investment in the Charter Hall Office REIT, including the proposed replacement of the responsible entity for the fund, which has approximately A$3.6 billion of assets under investment.
- ING Real Estate Investment Management on the phased withdrawal from its Australian real estate investment activities.
Prior to joining Henry Davis York, Seema spent over five years in the Financial Services Group of Ernst & Young.
