Scott has advised Baiada Poultry as the external 'general counsel' for over a decade on all aspects of this large privately-owned business. This includes acting on its acquisition program which led to the successful purchase of Steggles, after finding an innovative solution to obtain ACCC merger approval, and creating Australia's largest poultry group.
Scott is an adviser to Lachlan Murdoch and his investment entity, Illyria, on a range of private matters and investments made in Australia and internationally (including interests in Ten, DMG, Prime, Funtastic & Rajasthan Royals).
He acts for MasterCard on a wide range of complex contracts with financial institutions in Australia and in South East Asia for the issue of MasterCard branded cards. He has also acted on a joint venture with a bank for the start up of an electronic payment processing business.
Scott has advised government (RTA & RailCorp) and private participants (Hitachi) in major toll road, rail rolling stock and smart card projects; Vedanta Resources on the acquisition of copper projects in Queensland and Tasmania; and a Tinkler Group backed consortium on a bid for the Abbot Point Coal Terminal.
He has also acted for leading ASX listed entities like Tabcorp and Aristocrat in highly regulated industries such as gaming, wagering and licensed venues. Scott drafted the update of the enacted Totalizator Rules and has advised on competition and other regulatory issues relating to the merger of pools.
Scott is a recognised M&A lawyer in ALB. He has also led the project team on numerous significant transactions which appear in directories like Asia Pacific Legal 500 2011 and IFLR 1000 2009-2010.
