Senior Associate

Scott is a specialist in workplace relations and safety law. He advises private and public sector organisations on a wide variety of employment, workplace relations, industrial and health and safety issues.

Scott's specialisation includes termination of employment issues (including unfair dismissals and adverse action claims), work health and safety, discrimination and harassment, workplace investigations, and drafting, reviewing and advising on employment contracts and workplace policies.

He is experienced in preparing and running matters in a variety of State and Federal jurisdictions, including at appellate level. Scott's recent matters include:

  • defending a high value CEO breach of contract claim in the NSW Supreme Court
  • managing the WorkCover investigation process following a fatality on a client's site 
  • defending unfair dismissal proceedings in Fair Work Australia in relation to drug and alcohol use 
  • various discrimination and victimisation proceedings in the NSW Anti-Discrimination Board, NSW Administrative Decisions Tribunal and Australian Human Rights Commission 
  • industrial action and dispute proceedings in the NSW Industrial Relations Commission 
  • acting pro bono for a homeless man in Fair Work Australia and Fair Work Ombudsman proceedings.

He has also acted in underpayment and award entitlement claims in the Federal Magistrates Court, and has advised on the employment-related aspects of corporate deals and insolvencies.
