Kerry has over 12 years' experience advising the insurance industry and public authorities on all types of policies, including professional indemnity, directors' and officers', public liability, property and contract works, as well as advising in relation to commercial and domestic insurances and disputes.
She has extensive experience in the defence of proceedings involving professional negligence, negligence, intentional torts, breach of contract and breaches of statutory duties. Kerry has also defended litigation involving professional indemnity, product liability, public liability and property claims (including fire claims) as well as medical negligence claims. Her clients include the New South Wales Police Force, Railcorp, Suncorp Metway, Enstar Australia Limited, Brambles Limited and LawCover Insurance Pty Limited. In addition, Kerry has previously acted for Integral Energy, AMP General Insurance Limited, Resource Underwriting and Lloyds syndicates.
Kerry has experience in advising on complex insurance issues, coverage issues and contractual issues. She conducts a diverse cross-section of litigated and unlitigated matters. These include professional indemnity claims for doctors, hospitals, solicitors, barristers and engineers, defending allegations of intentional torts and public liability claims for personal injury within the public sector, claims for recovery of pure economic loss by corporate entities and fraud.
Kerry is an experienced negotiator and frequently implements alternative dispute resolution methods. She has resolved a large number of cases using mediation.
