Kathy is an expert in corporate insolvency, general commercial litigation and dispute resolution, with considerable experience in regulatory and other investigations.
Kathy's expertise has been called upon in many of Australia's major corporate disputes, collapses and investigations. Her clients have included major corporations and financial institutions, directors, officers, professional advisers such as accounting and professional services firms, administrators, liquidators, other corporate entities and individuals.
Kathy has substantial experience in the areas of insolvency, directors and officers duties, professional negligence claims, and regulatory and other investigations, representing parties whether as plaintiffs, defendants, investigators or the subject of investigation.
Recent matters in which Kathy has been involved include acting for the former chief financial officer of James Hardie in a high profile penalty proceedings action brought by ASIC. She also played a significant role acting for the liquidator of NewCap Reinsurance Ltd in the pursuit of numerous recovery claims for the benefit of creditors of that estate. Kathy presently acts on a number of significant matters including for the liquidators of Octaviar Limited and in connection with the ABC Learning Centres receivership and liquidation.
Kathy is a strong advocate for pro bono work and has played a lead role in developing Henry Davis York's community and pro bono program.
