Senior Associate

Janet specialises in environmental and planning law and acts for major corporations, developers and financial institutions, as well as a range of government authorities such as the Roads and Traffic Authority, Rail Corporation NSW, Transgrid and the NSW Police Force.

Janet has extensive litigation and transactional experience and has advised on numerous developments under the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act 1979 (NSW).

She has expertise in all forms of environmental and planning litigation in the Land and Environment Court and the Court of Appeal and has also appeared in the Local, District and Supreme Courts along with the Consumer, Trader and Tenancy Tribunal and the Administrative Decisions Tribunal in relation to construction and property matters.

Matters Janet has advised on include: a number of compulsory acquisitions for the Roads and Traffic Authority and Rail Corporation NSW; Class 1 and Class 4 appeals on behalf of applicants and respondents; major infrastructure projects for government entities; Class 5 prosecutions for water pollution for defendants; and providing specialist planning law advice to large developers and government entities.

Janet is the Commissioning Editor of the Local Government Reporter and regularly contributes to the Environmental Law Reporter.
