Hazel acts for clients from a diverse range of industries, such as financial services, media, public sector and fashion in respect of contentious and non-contentious intellectual property issues.

She assists clients with securing intellectual property rights and advises on brand protection issues, trade mark strategies including trade mark clearance and manages international trade mark portfolios for clients. She also advises on trade mark prosecution issues and acts in trade mark opposition and non-use actions.

Hazel advises on infringement of trade marks, patents, copyright and designs along with passing off and Australian Consumer Law issues.

She assists clients in commercialising their intellectual property. She advises on intellectual property aspects of transactions including carrying out intellectual property due diligence.

  • Qualifications
    Hazel has a Bachelor of Business and Legal Studies and an LLM in Commercial Law from University College Dublin.
    She is a qualified Irish Trade Mark Agent and European Trade Mark and Design Attorney.
  • International Experience
    Hazel was admitted as a solicitor in Ireland in 2003. Prior to joining Henry Davis York, she worked as a solicitor in some of the leading intellectual property firms in Ireland where she specialised in intellectual property law. Hazel acted in a number of high profile trade mark, patent and design litigation proceedings in the Irish High Court and the Supreme Court and also advised clients on commercialising their intellectual property.
