Hamish has over nine years' experience as a banking and finance lawyer in Australia and New Zealand.

He regularly acts for banks and other financial institutions as well as borrowers, advising on a wide range of financing transactions, including bilateral and syndicated loans (secured and unsecured) and construction and project finance.

Hamish also acts for financiers in relation to various infrastructure and property development projects throughout Australia, including negotiating with relevant government departments. He regularly advises a card services and payment systems provider in negotiating both credit and debit card schemes with Australian banks.

Hamish's recent experience includes acting for the participants on the restructure and refinancing of their syndicated facility to the Redcape Property Fund, acting for participants in the syndicated facility to a Centro investment fund in respect of part of its Australian and New Zealand commercial property portfolio, and acting for a US-based financier on the financing of various Australian-based receivables.

Hamish was also recently on secondment to a major Australian bank, working closely with a number of business units in the institutional division.

Hamish plays a central role in the firm's personal property securities team and brings direct experience and understanding of the new regime through his practise in New Zealand.
