Haley is Henry Davis York's first full-time pro bono coordinator. She represents individuals who are marginalised or disadvantaged and organisations who work for the public good and which would otherwise be unable to afford legal assistance. Haley provides advice and representation in a range of areas of law including claims made under the Aboriginal Stolen Wages Scheme, social security, tenancy and housing, victims' compensation, coronial law, contractual disputes, personal credit and debt.
She also assesses referrals for pro bono assistance, coordinates the distribution of pro bono work throughout the firm and works with community partners on ways to improve access to justice in the community.
Haley manages Henry Davis York's community programs and promotes volunteer activities and charitable donations which align with the firm's goals to raise awareness and to reduce the impact of homelessness, physical illnesses and mental health.
Haley was first employed by Henry Davis York in 2002 as a lawyer in the firm's Workplace Relations & Safety and Commercial Disputes groups where she advised individuals, commercial and public sector clients in matters involving property and contractual disputes, trusts, misleading and deceptive conduct and negligence claims. She was appointed to the full-time pro bono role in November 2009.
