Ben has acted on a wide range of transactions including business and share sales, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and joint ventures. He advises a range of industries, including acting for clients in the financial services sector, agribusiness sector, and the gaming and wagering sectors. He also regularly advises on Corporations Act matters and a broad range of commercial structures and arrangements.
Ben has been involved in significant corporate transactions, including advising Baiada Poultry in its acquisition of the Bartter/Steggles Group (which created Australia's largest poultry provider and involved a pioneering same day asset divestment by the merged enterprise to a competitor to secure ACCC approval), advising the receivers and managers of Commander Communications in relation to the sale of its various business units' assets, advising a large private equity investor in relation to its proposed investment in a significant Australian gaming entity, and acting for the UK-based Vedanta Resources on key legal issues affecting its Australian copper mining projects located in Tasmania and Queensland.
Ben also advises clients on a range of general corporate and commercial issues, including advising Tabcorp on various regulatory matters, and providing commercial advice to, and negotiating and preparing commercial documentation for the University of Western Sydney.
