Alex specialises in all aspects of construction and infrastructure projects and provides both contentious and non-contentious advice to government agencies, statutory authorities, financial institutions, principals, contractors and consultants.
Alex advises clients from project inception to completion and has extensive experience in drafting and negotiating project-specific documentation as well as tailoring Australian Standard contracts to suit client's risk appetite and project needs.
He also advises clients in relation to litigated and non-litigated disputes, having acted for clients in a broad range of matters including contractual disputes, defect and delay claims, injunctions and security of payment adjudications. Alex has particular expertise in Supreme Court and private arbitration actions.
Alex has recently completed a secondment as a commercial contracts lawyer at RailCorp, where he acted on a variety of matters including preparing contract documentation and advising in connection with several major rolling stock contracts.
Alex commenced his career advising insurers and insureds in relation to professional indemnity insurance policy coverage and claims, providing him with an excellent understanding of project insurance issues and requirements.
