Alex advises lenders, insolvency practitioners and directors of companies in financial difficulty and has assisted clients on a variety of insolvency and restructuring assignments.
This significant restructuring and insolvency experience includes acting for the syndicate bank lenders to ABC Learning Centres in relation to both public and regulatory examinations concerning ABC's affairs, and advising the liquidators of New Cap Reinsurance, which included advice on the insolvent scheme of arrangement and assisting with recoveries in the liquidation.
Alex's broad experience also includes recent advice to lenders on standstill and restructuring arrangements, and advising distressed investment funds as to the legal and structural risks relevant to potential acquisitions.
Alex has spent a number of years working in the United Kingdom, most recently in-house at French investment and corporate bank, Calyon. During that time she supported its Distressed Assets Group and worked on the restructuring of structured finance vehicles and assisted in managing Calyon's exposure to various monoline insurers and corporate customers in emerging market sectors. While in London, she also spent time on secondment in RBS' Specialised Lending Services team, where she managed the bank's exposure to various insolvent and financially distressed corporate customers.
