Private Equity

Each private equity transaction is different: each fund has different investment considerations, each manager has different risk profiles and each investee and management team has different expectations.

Overview

Whether it's a management buy-out, an acquisition, a new private equity fund, a secondary sale or other exit, our intimate knowledge of the Australian private equity industry and our capacity to see all sides of transactions enables everyone's concerns to be put into their true commercial and legal context.

We believe that each transaction needs a legal team that can deliver the right balance of skill, experience and personal touch. At HDY, our core PE team sits in our Corporate Advisory Group and, as required, brings in specialist advice, such as employment, taxation, intellectual property and finance.

Experts in our field

As experts in our field, we are relied upon for our ability to actively monitor the market and to apply our private equity experience to advise on potential investments. Wherever possible, we look to identify proprietary opportunities to deploy funds to avoid the pressures of public auction pricing.

Our experience in advising many industry participants is the source of our in-depth knowledge and clear understanding of the key issues private equity firms face across all market conditions. During the tough times, we work with our clients to help them prepare for the upturn and to ensure they maintain and nurture their portfolio investments so they can be well-positioned to achieve a quick exit when recovery prevails. We also help them to source appropriate terms from financiers particularly when the depth of competition has decreased.

Expertise

Whether investors, investees or fund managers, clients rely upon us to understand their precise investment needs. We work closely with them on all aspects of private equity investment including:

  • establishing and managing private equity funds
