Simon McSweeney
Simon specialises in structuring and implementing corporate financing transactions on behalf of financial, institutional and government clients. He advises on the documenting and security structuring of debt financing transactions, and on restructuring, stand-still arrangements and other workouts of financing transactions and treasury products, including the operation of ISDA (International Swaps and Derivatives Association) master documentation.
He has acted for government authorities in relation to a number of major transport infrastructure projects, effected a debt restructuring to enable the purchase of the Mount Lyell copper mine in Tasmania, including negotiation of environmental legislation with the Tasmanian State Government, and acted for one of the largest creditors of the Pasminco group of companies in connection with the administration and subsequent restructuring of that group.
Simon is a member of the Australian Corporate Lawyers Association, the Banking & Financial Services Law Association, the Financial Services Committee of the Business Law Section of the Law Council of Australia and the Financial Executives Institute of Australia.
He is Henry Davis York's representative to the Mortgage Association of Australia and to the Australian Equipment Lessors Association.
