Philip Crawford
Widely experienced in litigation, banking and insolvency work, Philip specialises in acting for financial institutions and insolvency professionals. He is a senior partner and has been with the firm for over 27 years.
His practice encompasses all aspects of security enforcement, insolvency and bankruptcy, general bank-orientated litigation and other forms of dispute resolution. Philip regularly acts for and advises liquidators, receivers and administrators on all aspects of insolvency matters. He also advises banks on banker/customer disputes, frauds and forgeries, and has represented banks and bank officers in statutory enquiries established by the ICAC, ASIC and other government agencies. He has for many years acted for banks in corporate workouts for customers in financial difficulties.
Philip has recently acted for the secured creditors and receivers and managers of the secured assets of the Republic of Nauru, the TVSN Group, the Century Batteries Group, the Gympie Gold Group and Comindico Australia Pty Ltd.
Philip is a member of INSOL International, a global association of insolvency practitioners, the Insolvency Practitioners Association of Australia, and the Banking Law & Financial Services Association. He regularly presents papers at finance conferences on insolvency and related matters.
He is described as "a Leading Individual" in Restructuring and Insolvency by The Asia Pacific Legal 500 2007/08. His expertise is also recognised in Euromoney Guide to the World's Leading Insolvency Lawyers, and Chambers Global 2007/08 where he is described as "another good choice for 'timely and good quality advice', according to clients."
