Nicholas Brunton

Nicholas practises in all areas of planning, environmental and valuation law.

Nicholas' work includes strategic planning advice, negotiating with consent authorities, advising on major projects, advising on contaminated land matters, and preparing environmental legal risk management programs and systems for clients including conducting training, seminars and drafting legal risk management tools and guidelines.

He advises State Government agencies on all aspects of valuation and compensation law including conducting class 3 litigation in the Land and Environment Court. He acts for clients in planning appeals in the Land and Environment Court and defends prosecutions for air, water and marine pollution offences.

Nicholas' clients include banks, mining companies, construction companies, developers and a range of government agencies and corporations.

Nicholas has a PhD in planning and environmental law and lectures on environmental law and policy at the University of Sydney, Macquarie University and the University of New South Wales.

He has published over 20 articles on various aspects of environmental and planning law and is a "Highly Recommended Individual" in PLC Which Lawyer? 2008 for Environment law advice.
