Lucinda McCann



 

 

Lucinda specialises in financial services law, with particular expertise in financial markets and derivatives regulation. She has over 11 years' experience as a corporate and financial services lawyer advising international and Australian clients, including banks, fund managers, clearing houses, brokerage houses, derivatives issuers, derivatives markets, global exchanges, responsible entities, custodians and other financial services businesses.

Lucinda regularly advises over-the-counter derivatives issuers in relation to financial services licensing, disclosure and other regulatory issues arising under the Corporations Act, as well as assisting some of Australia’s major financial institutions in relation to licensing and disclosure issues.

She has advised the Australian arm of a major international bank on exchange-traded futures and options trading documentation, as well as providing advice and analysis of settlement procedures and counterparty risk.

She has also provided advice and analysis of over-the-counter commodity derivatives transactions, including re-purchase arrangements for a major global corporation, and has advised a Global Energy Market on regulation and licensing issues.

Lucinda has worked on a number of significant and innovative matters in the funds management area, including the establishment and listing of Australia's first exchange-traded funds, and the establishment and listing of a registered managed investment scheme which invests primarily in China A shares.
