James Lonie

James specialises in Corporations Act compliance issues, funds management, fundraisings and corporate mergers and acquisitions.

James has considerable experience in advising on, and acting in, capital raisings (including floats and by listed and unlisted companies and regulated and unregulated trusts) and acquisitions, takeover and restructuring transactions, advice and transactional work involving the Corporations Act and ASX listing rules and funds management. He understands the operations and duties of a statutory regulator and is accustomed to making submissions to, and negotiating with, regulatory authorities such as ASX and ASIC.

James has also worked on managed investments scheme establishment and offerings, property syndications, takeover bids, and capital protected fixed term products.

His expertise includes advice on structuring and establishment of investment vehicles, on application for an Australian financial services licence (if required), on due diligence enquiries and participating on due diligence committees (including chairing them), on drafting of offer documentation and in relation to the issue of securities.
