Glenn Hughes

Glenn leads HDY's Private Equity team of 4 partners and 5 senior associates and has advised managers and investment bodies on a wide variety of private equity-funded investments, acquisitions and divestments.  In addition, Glenn has advised on numerous mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and restructuring transactions, particularly in the IT industry.

Glenn has acted for: the trustee of a major MBO fund on the fund's divestment of its interests in Austar, an Australian listed pay-tv operator; an Australian listed technology company in a A$60m leveraged joint venture with a private equity-backed company; an institutional PE investor on its investment in Runge, a mining consultancy business and its MBO of Kra Mar, a product supply company for companion animals; a major telecommunications company on the outsourcing of its retail (face-to-face) distribution channel; for a PE investor on its management buyout of an Australian-based worldwide cosmetics company and subsequent exit by way of trade sale; an ASX listed defence communications company on its takeover by way of scheme of arrangement; for an international bank in its acquisition of a large portfolio of diversified credit card receivables; and for an interactive software company on the Australian release of various versions of a high-selling video game.

Glenn is a member of and regularly attends Australian Venture Capital Association (AVCAL) seminars and functions.
