Catherine McAdam

Catherine has practised insurance law and litigation for over 12 years.

Catherine's expertise covers professional indemnity, construction risk, catastrophic claims, public and product liability, life insurance and total and permanent disability claims. Catherine regularly advises insurers on policy interpretation.

Catherine is proactive in the settlement of disputes and has participated in numerous mediations.

Catherine has recently acted for a life insurer, defending a claim arising from the cancellation of an income protection policy due to the plaintiff's non-disclosure. Other recent matters in which Catherine has been involved include acting for a psychologist who conducted a leadership training course, defending a claim for psychiatric injury, acting for a real estate agent in relation to alleged misrepresentations made by the agent, and acting for surveyors and architects.

Catherine is a member of the Australian Insurance Law Association (AILA).
