Alex specialises in securitisation and capital markets transactions, structured and property finance transactions and receivables financing arrangements. He is experienced in debt capital markets finance domestically (wholesale and retail) and offshore, including in the USA, the Euromarkets, Hong Kong and New Zealand.
Alex also uses his structured finance skills to assist clients of our market leading Insolvency and Restructuring practice, and was one of our lead partners advising the administrators/liquidators of the Fincorp group. He has also advised a major domestic bank in relation to the restructuring of the debt facilities to the Allco group (Australian Legal Business Insolvency and Restructuring Deal of the Year 2009) and in relation to its exposure to the Timbercorp group.
Alex has acted for a large international property fund manager and developer in its CMBS, asset backed CP and multi-option facility financing for its Australian retail and listed industrial property funds; for major professional trustees in a number of "Global" and "Euro" RMBS issues; for a boutique property investment bank and fund manager in the establishment and financing of, and property acquisitions by, an "opportunistic" real estate investment trust; and for a professional trustee in establishing a number of master trusts and SPC conduits.
Alex is recognised as a "Leading" lawyer in the areas of Banking and also Debt Capital Markets in PLC Which Lawyer?, is recognised for his securitisation expertise in The Asia Pacific Legal 500 and is also listed as a "Leading Lawyer" in the IFLR1000 Rankings in the area of Capital Markets - Structured Finance. Alex is Henry Davis York's representative on the Australian Securitisation Forum.
