Scarlet Reid

Scarlet practises in all areas of employment law and has specialised in occupational health and safety (OHS) for the past 10 years.

From 1999 - 2001 Scarlet was a senior prosecutor at the WorkCover Authority of NSW.  As a former prosecutor, Scarlet provides her clients with a unique insight into compliance with OHS laws and defending OHS prosecutions.  She is skilled in providing practical strategies for managing OHS risks.

Scarlet has recently been involved in the development and implementation of due diligence frameworks designed to assist directors and managers in avoiding personal liability under the OHS law.  She has also drafted compliance handbooks to guide managers in dealing with OHS risk in the property sector.

In 2005 Scarlet spent several months on secondment to the Employee Relations division of a global investment bank where she provided a broad wide range of employment law advice to human resources managers and business leaders. 

Scarlet's employment law expertise includes:

  • the preparation and negotiation of contracts of employment, consultancy agreements and workplace policies & procedures;
  • providing advice on termination of employment;
  • conducting employment related litigation, including breach of contract claims;
  • conducting workplace investigations; and
  • advising on equal opportunity and anti-discrimination issues.
