Kerry Stewart

Kerry has over 12 years experience in insurance law, with a strong focus on insurance litigation. During this time Kerry has been involved in the defence of a number of significant claims, including professional indemnity, public liability, property (including fire claims), product liability and medical negligence.

Kerry frequently represents clients in all State and Federal jurisdictions and has extensive experience in conducting large, complex and multi-party litigation.

Kerry has an active appreciation of both the legal service requirements of her clients and their commercial needs. Through her experience during three secondments over her time at HDY, she has developed a practical understanding of how to effectively assist clients to achieve their business objectives.

Kerry has a strong commercial approach to litigation and prides herself on her ability to successfully resolve claims at an early stage. She understands the importance of a strong defence and has a sound knowledge of the laws of evidence.

Kerry is an experienced negotiator and frequently implements alternative dispute resolution methods. She has resolved a large number of claims using mediation.

Kerry is a sitting member of the AILA Education Sub-Committee for New South Wales and is a member of the Australian Women Lawyers Association.
