Kerry Abadee

 

 

 

Kerry Abadee has over 15 years' experience in dispute resolution, specialising in commercial litigation.

She represents commercial and government clients and has experience in advising on disputes in the areas of corporations law, contracts, fraud, trusts, leasing, misleading or deceptive conduct, inquiries and revenue recovery.  She is also experienced in advising government clients on issues of statutory construction, privilege, legislation and policy.

Kerry regularly acts for clients in relation to cases requiring the management of complex and sensitive issues.

Recent matters in which Kerry has been involved include the high profile representation of the former CFO of James Hardie and director of certain subsidiaries both at trial and on appeal in the civil penalty proceedings commenced by ASIC, acting in NSW Supreme Court proceedings involving allegations of fraud, advising a government entity in relation to an aspect of the Tcard proceedings in the Supreme Court of NSW, representing subsidiaries of the Commonwealth Bank in relation to a dispute over the leasing arrangements to the retail areas of a prominent Sydney building, and acting for Perpetual Trustees in proceedings determined by the Supreme Court of Victoria concerning an application for access to trust documents by beneficiaries.
